I set up the Rough Cut Racing project at the end of 2007 with the view to competing in the 2008 Honda Formula 4-Stroke Offshore Powerboat Championships.
I had a sponsor that wanted to promote a new product called "ZeroEight" and although the project got off to a promising start, it eventually hit problems. The sponsor was always difficult to contact, but never the less had invested quite a large sum of money in the project and for them to just walk away from it would seem a little odd.
I managed to do the first race of the 2008 season but without the support of the sponsor was unable to complete the rest of the season. Although I had received some money from the sponsor, I hadn't received the full amount that had been agreed for the project. There has been no communication since.
The team is now looking for new sponsors as it prepares to compete in the 2010 race season of the new P1 SuperStock Offshore Powerboat Series, previously known as the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Championship. As a result of the collaboration with the Powerboats P1 organisation, greater media coverage is expected for the 2010 championship that will consist of six race weekends in the UK and Europe.
As a sponsor you can be part of this very exciting and competitive sport by using our 8 metre Cougar Sport Racer as an integral part of your company’s marketing strategy.
Your company will have branding on the race boat, tow vehicle, race wear and team wear and will be promoted on websites and print media. You will also receive VIP race weekend hospitality.
During the off-season your brand will be visible whenever the boat is “testing” or being towed around the country to other events.
The boat will also be available for specific company promotion or incentive days.
Our aim is to build a good working relationship with you so that maximum returns are achieved for your company.
